GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT FACILITY
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is a key funder and partner of the goFPA, through the GEF Fynbos Fire Project. It was established on the eve of the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, to help tackle our planet’s most pressing environmental problems.
UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
The UNDP is serving as the implementer of GEF Fynbos Fire Project funding in South Africa. The UNDP works in nearly 170 countries, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.
THE FYNBOSFIRE PROJECT
The GEF FynbosFire Project aims to reduce the risk of wildfire in fynbos by building the capacity of fire protection associations (FPAs) and communities at risk to undertake Integrated Fire Management (IFM), through funding from the GEF Special Climate Change Fund. The project has supported the launch of the goFPA.

DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS
The national Department of Environmental Affairs is a partner in the GEF FynbosFire project. It works to transform the country’s approach to environmental protection, while balancing this with socio-economic development.
WESTERN CAPE GOVERNMENT
The Western Cape Government creates laws for and provides services to the people of the Western Cape, to ensure that citizens of the province have access to the services, facilities and information they need.
OVERBERG DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY
The ODM is a category C municipality comprising of Cape Agulhas, Overstrand, Swellendam and Theewaterskloof municipalities.
OVERSTRAND LOCAL MUNICIPALITY
The Overstrand Local Municipality covers more than 1700 square kilometres over the Hermanus, Gansbaai and Stanford area.
SANPARKS
South African National Parks (SANParks) manages a system of parks which represents the indigenous fauna, flora, landscapes and associated cultural heritage of the country.
CAPENATURE
CapeNature is a public institution with the statutory responsibility for biodiversity conservation in the Western Cape. It is governed by the Western Cape Nature Conservation Board Act 15 of 1998 and mandated to: promote and ensure nature conservation; render services and provide facilities for research and training; and generate income.

AGULHAS BIODIVERSITY INITIATIVE
ABI is a landscape initiative operating across the Overberg. This voluntary association brings government, the private sector and other partners together, to secure a productive healthy natural environment in the Overberg.
OVERBERG AGRI
Overberg Agri is an agricultural company that primarily earns its revenue from agriculture. Its vision is to be the business partner of choice in the sector.
SUN EXCHANGE
Sun Exchange is a solar leasing platform that allows individuals from all over the world to own remotely-located solar cells and earn from the electricity they generate. The company currently has over 13 800 members from 158 countries owning cells in 25 solar projects.

All funds raised will SUPPORT fire-fighters battling the overwhelming Overberg fires. ALL monies raised will be: – used for making the fire lines more bearable, including; – cellphone airtime to talk to their families at home; – foodstuff like ice to keep their drinks cold, that warm meal to supplement their ration packs, and any other essentials. goFPA is a registered PBO.
