The Greater Overberg Fire Protection Association (goFPA) is seeking an Extension Officer to support the goFPA Manager and Project Coordinator, based in the Overberg district, in Bredasdorp.
This role focuses on landscape-level conservation support, as well as project administration and financial coordination linked to fire management and landscape stewardship across the Overberg.
The candidate should have:
- At least two years’ relevant experience
- Strong organisational skills
- Good computer and administration skills
- The ability to work across multiple conservation and land management projects
- A valid driver’s licence and own transport
- The ability to work independently and under pressure
- A proactive nature and the ability to take initiative
- A strong work ethic and be a team player
Key functions
Programme/Landscape Support:
- Support the implementation of restoration and landscape management programmes linked to fire and disaster mitigation management
- Assist with coordination between stakeholders
- Help monitor progress and undertake reporting requirements
Administration:
- Maintain project documentation, reports, records and correspondence
- Assist with compiling reports, minutes and project updates
- Support general office coordination and scheduling
Financial administration:
- Assist with financial administration for projects, such as invoices, payments and record keeping
- Support budget tracking and expenditure reporting
- Maintain financial documentation

Remuneration: Competitive, market-related package
