Support Overberg firefighting year-round – donations made this winter help equip and support firefighters during fire season.

FARM & LAND MEMBERS
If you are a farm owner or a landowner in the Overberg, you can become a goFPA member. Membership is voluntary for private landowners, and when you sign up, you’ll receive all the support the goFPA team offers our members – through integrated fire management assistance. There is a joining fee and annual fee to join as a member. Government departments, municipalities and conservation authorities who own land in the Overberg must become goFPA members.
Members will form part of a Fire Management Unit – a grouping of landowners who will manage fire across their units together.

Mario Arends – ‘The dangers of fires’
Meet Mario Arends, the Platoon Commander for the Overberg Fire & Rescue team, based in Bredasdorp. Mario has been fighting fire and saving lives in the area for the past 19 years. So no one knows the dangers of wildfires better than him.
The value of joining the goFPA
The fire-fighting tariffs for the 2016 Fire Season are now available. And the tariffs show the value of being a goFPA member. According to Louise Wessels, Manager of the goFPA, wildfire suppression will cost members of the goFPA, in the Overberg …
goFPA beefs up the team
The Greater Overberg Fire Protection Association has extra administrative support this fire season. Keith Leonard joins the goFPA team, and will play an integral role in supporting fire management. Keith, 35, is a true Overberger, having grown up in Bredasdorp.
SUPPORT #FIREFIGHTERS BATTLING
THE OVERBERG FIRES.
All funds raised will SUPPORT fire-fighters battling the overwhelming Overberg fires. ALL monies raised will be: – used for making the fire lines more bearable, including; – cellphone airtime to talk to their families at home; – foodstuff like ice to keep their drinks cold, that warm meal to supplement their ration packs, and any other essentials. goFPA is a registered PBO.
